Area Submission Guidelines
We want to set some rough guidelines and some distinct technical requirements for the bouldering area submissions. This way, we can ensure that everyone will enjoy the area as much as you do. So when submitting your info on an area, please ask yourself these few questions:

Are there plenty of boulder problems?
There is no distinct quantity of problems that make a good area. Yosemite's Camp 4 is tiny compared to Fontainebleau or Hueco, but it still kicks ass. But as they say; the more, the merrier. We would like to see at least 50 or more individual boulder problems in an area submission.

Is the rock good quality?
Nobody wants to show up to a greasy choss-pile that's held together with glue or excessively sharp and grainy rock that rips up your skin. Please consider the actual quality of the rock and it's effect on the quality of the climbing.

Are the boulder problems good quality?
This is a little difficult, since everybody has his or her own idea of what is "good". You may enjoy 4-foot tall Mantel problems with sit-down starts, but not everyone does. You may enjoy 30-foot tall Highballs, but not everyone does. The landings should also be considered, if they are excessively dangerous. Get some opinions from other climbers.

Are there boulder problems of varying difficulty?
There is no requirement on how difficult the boulder problems need to be, but we believe that a quality area should have something for everybody, from the first-time boulderer to the super-hardman. Is your area lots of V10 projects or a vast array of V0 slabs? Diversity is the key.

How do I get there?
How is the automobile approach? Is it a gutted dirt road only accessible with a 4-wheel-drive? Is it some insane maze of back roads? Is there ample, safe parking? Is there some kind of parking fees or user fees to visit your area?

How is the approach?
Nobody wants to hike 3 miles uphill for a little bouldering session. Nobody wants to waste an hour trying to find some hidden area in the woods. Please consider the ease of the approach, if the individual boulder problems are spread out over a large area and the ease of finding the area when submitting your info.

What is the Area's ownership / access?
This is the most delicate and important issue of all! You may have developed the coolest bouldering area on earth, but if it's owned by a grumpy redneck with a shotgun, it doesn't matter how cool it is. PLEASE make sure that there are no access issues with people wanting to climb in your area. This is your responsibility and obligation, so please take it seriously.
